Om Nom Monday!

Hello! :D

So, after much though, Foodie Friday sacked. So, I give you:

Today we are making my friend Melia's Mom's Rice Casserole! I never got to meet Cathy, but she was an amazing person, and I am honored to have one of her recipes! Thanks Melia for it! She had made it for me while I was on Flint staying with her. I fell in love. We had it with venison. I also made a double batch, and forgot to add the mushrooms. I wrote the recipe with out them, but you can add canned mushrooms! :D

So Here we go! 

You need: 

• 1 lb Hamburger or venison
• 1 can LaChoy Fancy mixed vegetables (if you can't find them, you can use one can of bamboo shoots and 1 can of bean sprouts)
• 1 large or 2 small cans Campbell's cream of mushroom soup
• 1 cup of water
• 2 cup of minute rice

Alright. Grab a large Pot. Start cookin' that meat. 

I'd also drain the fat. I wouldn't rinse it ( Don't laugh, my mom rinses her meat...)

Alright. So Then add everything BUT THE RICE! So, The veggies, water, and soup! to the meat. 

Looks a little soupy right, that's ok. 

Then, when it starts to boil add the 2 cups of rice! Wait for about 10 minutes, or until the rice is soft. This may take longer or shorter depending. 

Then you'll get something like this:

:D Looks good! And it is! Add Soy Sauce. I use Braggs Liquid Aminos. Use a little spice. I use Ms. Dash, Melia likes Nature's Seasoning.

So, crazy weather we're having here. The kids have had 2 snow days! Oui!

I am back! Well...I never left...but you get the idea. I went to Flint this weekend with my Very Best Friend: Amelia. I had a great time, and I was a college kid for a while. College seems cool. I am a working woman. If you guys don't know yet, I am a photo editor :). I eventually want to do magazines. I am going away to college next Sept. for Photography.

I wanna say thanks to my friend Emily for kinda getting me back into my 20D :).

YAY! Snow! At least it looks pretty now...Knowing Michigan we'll have 5 feet in the next hour ( Kidding! Kinda....) It makes me even more super excited for the holidays. It first Snowed on Thanksgiving (Nov. 25), but it didn't stick...This is kinda sticking. OooooOOOO!! Winter is finally here! It's late for Michigan. Typically we have snow by now. I don't mind though :) And I'm sure you'll see be bitch about shoveling it soon. I'm enjoying it why I can. he he

So, Foodie Friday didn't work this week. Sorry.

But I've been busy. I went shopping on Friday. And I bought a lot of cute stuff..
I finished a couple of swaps.
I've been making Christmas cards.

 Christmas is right around the corner!

I've been keeping up on my mail. A little. Lmao.  Mom bought me some stamps. She knows the way to my heart. She got a tattoo! The wild woman. It is a nice one on her wrist saying 'Hope'. Go Mom Go!

So, just updating. Going to work now...lol.

Howdy :).

Just wanna tell you now, FF will be moved to Saturday because of the holiday! And I will show you some of the family ways to eat your leftovers!

I go to Bay City with My Nana and Mom, and this year my Great Aunt Pat! We go down town, and there is like no one there due to black friday. :). It's how we start the holiday, and my favorite family tradition!

It's Harry Potter weekend! So, with that said Today's FF is brought to you by:



Dum Dum Dumdum! (Harry Potter theme!)

Anyway. Today I'm doing: Popovers. Pretty much the American Lazy version of Yorkshire Pudding. The only difference: is Yorkshire has roast drippings in it.

So.
Preheat oven to 425*F ( about 22*C)

Here's what you need:

• Milk
• Butter
• 3 eggs
• flour
• salf
• 1/2 cup measuring cup
• bowl
• spoon
• fork
• muffin tin

Take the bowl, but 1 1/2 cups( 3 things of the 1/2 measuring cup...I'm weird)  of flour, with a dash of salt in the bowl

Like so:

Add 1 1/2 cups of Milk then the eggs.









Grab a fork:

poke the eggs: (easier to mix with, I think.)

Start stirring, baby! Woot!

Don't over mix. Mix for 2 minutes, and no more then that.









Get it to a heavy cream constancy.

Take your muffin tin, and put about a teaspoon of butter in each muffin cup:

Then melt it in the oven:

Pour it in. I say to where it's almost full. Almost!!

Put it in the oven:

This is the hard part! Don't peak until you think it's done. Leave it in for 20-25 minutes.

I don't know if any you have ever had gallbladder problems...but OUI! It hurts! And like...I get so drained. UGh! I can't eat. ( Being a big girl...I like to eat, Man! UGH!)

OMG!

So, that' was me this morning. My good friend Andrew sent me a nice little package this morning. It had a little parrot origami, drawing of Yoda, a little letter, and a 2 packets of coco and marshmallows. :) Really made my morning!

So, I also recently joined BookCrossing. I put two books on the local StarBucks book exchange. I took an old 1945 book, from a hospital, and it was written on. :). It smells good. :). Also, the thanksgiving blend was nice.

Foodie Friday! :D

Hello Everyone.

I am going to *try* to do this thing called Foodie Friday. I am not a cook. Or a domestics person in general. Doesn't mean I can't try to learn. So, reader, off to the land undiscovered, to the land of good cooking?

I am going to start off with something I learned is amazingly simple. I love pancakes, who doesn’t? They’re good for anything. Making a breakfast sandwiches, bad days, good days, or just good because. They’re a favorite. I personally like to make them when I am mad. They clear the mind when making them. I also think I’m going to be the type of wife who will bake when pissed. Favorite pie hot of the oven when you get home, yous be in deep shit.

I was growing tired of regular pancakes from a box. Bman( Little Bro) was out for the summer. We wanted pancakes. We didn’t have the mix. So, I went on online and searched, like any good person my age would. I came up with a few different things. I decided to take bits and pieces, and make my own. So, here I give you:

My AwesomeHotCakes.

1 ½ cups of Flour
3 ½ teaspoons of baking powder (Mari's got some good reads :))
Dash of salt
1 ¼ cups of milk
1 egg
Cinnamon to taste ( I like a lot…)

In your bowl, put all dry ingredients in, then wet.
Mix together with Whisk.

Mix can be a little lumpy. Scoop mix onto a hot pan or griddle.

Wait until top side is bubbly then flip!







There you have it. Nice pancakes for a good morning. Make a whole batch and save for later. That’s what I do.  And I’m just starting on the recipe card things. If you have any hints for me, that would be awesome .

NOW GO EAT SOME PANCAKES.
Or panicakes if you’re my Grandma…

Soo. I've been slackin on the bloggin a wee bit. Sorry. I've been busy.

Work has been piling up. I hate tan kids. You do not come out tan if you tan before hand. You will be orange K.

As I said in my last post, Mom was supposed to get botox injections in her stomach.  Well, U of M kinda Eff-d her over. The lady sent the paper in for our insurance a day BEFORE hand. Of course our insurance was like 'ahahah, No'. So. There continues Mom's long battles with GP. Grrr.

I wanted to do a craft show. But, with work ( FU TANNERS) I don't think I can. I rather get Mom caught up. She needs it.
I've been doing a few Journal Swaps. I'm pretty excited. But, that's all I got going on. I'm like actually doing them here and there instead of ' OMG IT'S A WEEK BEFORE THEY'RE DUE." So, that's nice :D

I've been slackin on Pen Palling. So, Pen Pals, please forgive me. I'll get to you. :D Life is just busy.

And to top it ALLL off this week, I'm freakin sick. ugh. I'm loading on Aloe, Chicken Soup herbal tea, and peppermint oil.

Ok, So, I went on a quest for a wee bit. I wanted a typewriter, really bad. I went all over. I asked, all over. I looked at Craigslist, people's friends. Nothing.  Then Mom was like ' Let's go to that new Thrift store' Of course I was like 'Kay.'. So we walked through, and nothing. I found a little back room. I saw a case. I got excited, I opened it. I found the love of my life. A Smith-Corona Gallaxie 2. It had a full ribbon. I was excited! I asked how much, and she said 3 dollars! SOLD!

I am in the middle of collecting stickers to put on her. It's a travel typewriter, so I will be taking it places, and writing letters, if I ever go anywhere! Lol. 

I've been getting into Zines, if you haven't noticed. I love reading them, and making them is kinda hard, but awesome at the same time. I've been crocheting a lot because of the cold weather, so I haven't been working on it. I'll have some stuff on my etsy soon!

I hope you all are ok. I went to the DIY fair in Ferndale last weekend, omg, was it amazing. I saw Electric Six, and I bought a whole bunch of stuff. I was in heaven! I even made a little hoodie thing, I'll post pics later. I got compliments! It was my first recon!!! 

Well, I've been working. Which, is good. Mom is getting botox in her stomach for her Gastroparesis. It'll help her not hurt so much. I'm excited for her. 

I've got an awesome recipe for pancakes. I'll make another post tomorrow for it! :D

Doin' the ATC thing!

Howdy Readers!

I've been ATC'ing. I've been having a lot of fun doing them. I did one with  few locals on facebook. The theme was 'Child's Play'. There's what I did:

I still am a noob. And I'm learning, but I really like doing it. 

Mom also went to Ann Arbor again. I picked up some pretty kawaii stationary. And sticky notes. :) There was also this cool tree: 

It was in Kerrytown. There are really cool shops there! :) I love Ann Arbor. Such a  nifty place! 

I haven't been getting any mail lately. Which makes me sad. I've been writing people, so hopefully my mail box will explode sometime soon. I love it. I've also done a few journal swaps~! I love Journal Swaps!

I'm also a half a pound from my current goal weight. I'm so excited. I want to weight in all the time, but  I only do it once a week. I think that's better that way. It's really cool to see the scale go down. ahaha.

As for dating, because I've promised I'd keep you informed. I've been going out with this guy. He's a programmer. He opens door. And like, actually pays for things. I'm so not used to that. I guess, I've been barking up the wrong tree, and I finally found a nice one! ahaha. We're not like exclusive yet. ...Yet. So, technicality I'm on the market.  Oui. Ahaha.

Also, I want to say, Happy birthday Colonel Pork! I miss you so much Sir! It's your 21, so please, have a drink? For me :D
